full kerf

full kerf

Measure twice. Cut full.

Thin kerf is the sensible choice. It asks less of your saw, leaves more of the board, and most people should probably use it.

This isn't that channel.

Full kerf is .125", the blade a cabinet saw was built to swing. It doesn't flex, doesn't wander, and doesn't need an apology. It makes more dust, too. That's fine. None of it stays in the air.

That's the standard here. Shop builds, cabinetry, and chip and dust collection done properly. And an acre of designed grounds that never runs out of projects: paths, gates, walls, low-voltage lighting, and the trees and plantings around them.

Precise work. Practical builds.

The shop

1,000+ square feet, ducted end to end.

Cabinetry, shop builds, and the outdoor work the grounds keep asking for. Hard-ducted cyclone collection at every machine, with overhead filtration for what the ducts miss.

An explosion-proof exhaust fan is ducted outside, so the shop converts to an HVLP spray booth when it's time to finish.

Equipment

  • SawStop Industrial cabinet saw, 5 hp, full kerf blade
  • Laguna LT18 bandsaw
  • 8" jointer · 15" planer
  • Oneida cyclone, hard metal ducting, plus a second high-velocity collector
  • HVLP finishing: turbine, pressure, and airless
  • Contractor saw and jobsite miter saws for work away from the shop
